Tennis Progress Tracker (And How It Helps Players Improve Faster)

One of the hardest parts of improving in tennis is knowing where you’re at and what you should be working on next. Too often, you’ll find players move up too quickly, stay at the same level for too long, or feel unsure if they’re actually improving.

That’s why I created the Tennis Progress Tracker. The tracker is designed to give players a clear, structured pathway throughthe different stages of tennis development, from Beginner all the way through to Advanced.

Each level sets out specific skills, knowledge, consistency targets, and gameplay understanding that players should aim to achieve before moving on.

How It Works

Each Progress Tracker comes as a sticker card.

As players develop their game, they place a sticker over each skill once it’s been achieved. Simple guidance notes help players reflect on what the skill involves, so progress is based on understanding and consistency, not guesswork.

The trackers follow a logical journey:

  • Beginner’s Journey
  • Improver’s Journey
  • Low Intermediate to Advanced

Each level builds on the last, reinforcing fundamentals while gradually increasing the challenge.

Why Players Love It

  • Clear goals at every stage
  • Visible progress and motivation
  • Better confidence when moving up a level
  • A simple way to stay focused between sessions

Most importantly, it helps players enjoy the process of learning tennis and not just the outcome.

Choose Your Level

Self-Taught or Experienced Players

Progress isn’t always about moving forward, sometimes it’s about auditing
and reinforcing the foundations that support higher-level performance. In some cases many players plateau not because of a lack of ability, but because small fundamentals were never fully embedded.

Working through earlier Progress Trackers and revisiting earlier stages allows you to spot gaps, refine habits, and build the consistency required to perform at your best when it matters most.
